Common questions

The needle says “Too noisy” or “Unsure”

Turn off fans and other sound sources, hold the phone 20 to 40 cm from the strings, and strike the key firmly. In the top octave, mute the strings that are not being tuned.

Why is my bass flat and treble sharp?

That is correct stretch. Piano strings are stiff, so their overtones run sharp, and a well-tuned piano follows a stretched curve instead of exact equal temperament.

The app stopped hearing after a call

Unison restarts the microphone by itself. If a “Mic paused” banner shows, tap it to resume.

Can I move my piano files?

Yes. Piano files are plain files in Files > On My iPhone > Unison. Share them with AirDrop or Mail, or import TuneLab .tun files.
